Birmingham Doula Services

I provide doula support for new and expectant mothers and fathers in Birmingham. If you’re looking for a doula in Solihull, Sutton Coldfield or surrounding areas I may still be able to support you so please do get in touch!
Booking me is simple. Once you get in touch, I’ll meet with you and your partner, if applicable, for an informal, no obligation chat. We’ll discuss how best I can support you and, if we feel comfortable with each other, I’ll pencil you in to my diary and all I ask is that you let me know your final decision within a week of our meeting.

The kind of births I’ve attended to date:

  • Water births (home and birth centre)
  • Home births
  • Hospital births (delivery suite) ‘high risk’
  • Birth centre births ‘low risk’
  • VBACs
  • Caesarean births
  • Post dates (40+ weeks) births
  • Hypnobirths
  • Previous birth trauma and PTSD

I also support

  • Pregnancy and birth after miscarriage, stillbirth and other baby loss (extra support offered at no further cost)
  • IVF pregnancies
  • Surrogate pregnancies

All very different and all wonderful!

Post Natal Care Package (minimum of 20 hours, booked in 3 – 4 hour blocks)

The well being of a woman after childbirth should carry the same importance as taking care of the needs of a newborn child ~ Author Unknown

As a recognised post natal doula, I provide emotional and practical support once your baby is here. Whether you are a first time, second time or third time parent, the prospect of life with a newborn can be a little daunting especially as many moms are being discharged from hospital with their babies very soon after birth. I can be as invisible or involved as you want me to be and here are some examples of the support I can offer:

  • Reassurance and gentle encouragement to help you find your feet as a new parent
  • Emotional support (a listening ear and non-judgemental support)
  • Preparation of light, nutritious meals to aid your recovery
  • Care of baby while you rest, bathe etc.
  • Feeding support to enable you to feel confident in your feeding choice
  • Infant massage techniques (when baby is 8 weeks+). A supplement of £6o is payable for a 4 week 1:1 course
  • Accompany you to appointments, mother and baby groups etc. so that you don’t have to face them alone

If what you need isn’t on this list, I am very flexible so get in touch and let me know what support you do need!

The fee for this package is £20 per hour or £17 per hour for existing birth clients (local mileage included).

Need a doula but would struggle to pay for one?

If money’s an issue, I would rather see you have a doula than not have one so let’s put our heads together and come up with a plan; I’m open to monthly payments so long as the balance is paid by 38 weeks. Or, why not ask family and friends/work colleagues to club together to pay for a doula using gift vouchers? Each gift voucher comes with a beautifully hand-crafted card; a special gift for a special mother or mother-to-be. Order your gift voucher(s) here.
